Look up home languages and English proficiency by U.S. ZIP area or county.
No download needed

Choose a U.S. ZIP code or a state and county to explore the language context around a community. PewTranslate's free Census lookup shows languages spoken at home, English-proficiency estimates and margins of error, using the Census Bureau's ACS 2020–2024 five-year data. It runs in your browser without an account or download. Use the results to prepare a discussion about translated visitor information, bilingual volunteers or local language support. Keep the source and uncertainty with the figures, then combine that context with what people actually request. Shareable result links let a colleague reopen the same place. ZIP searches use Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas, which are statistical geographies rather than postal delivery routes. The estimates describe an area, not the language preferences of an individual visitor or the membership of a church. This listing covers the working lookup and its guide. PewTranslate's separate live church-translation service remains prelaunch, with translation accounts closed. The lookup does not generate AI translations.
